About Resilient Roots Counseling
Meet Your Therapist
Hello,
I'm Dr. Chiana J. Ghant, DSW, LCSW, M.A., founder of Resilient Roots Counseling.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, educator, and psychotherapist dedicated to helping adults navigate life's challenges with greater clarity, resilience, and self-compassion. I believe that healing occurs when individuals feel supported, empowered, and equipped with the tools needed to create meaningful change.
My educational background includes a Doctor of Social Work (DSW), a Master of Social Work (MSW), and a Master of Arts (M.A) in Conflict Resolution, Negotiation, and Peacebuilding. This interdisciplinary training allows me to bring a unique perspective to therapy, helping clients navigate not only personal challenges but also relationship dynamics, communication difficulties, conflict, and major life transitions.
In addition to private practice, I serve as a college professor and have extensive experience working in healthcare, mental health, and community settings. My work has included supporting individuals facing anxiety, stress, burnout, life transitions, and the emotional demands of caregiving and helping professions.
My therapeutic approach is evidence-based, trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally responsive. I work collaboratively with clients to identify patterns, build coping strategies, strengthen resilience, and create sustainable pathways toward healing and growth.
I have a special interest in supporting:
Anxiety and stress management
Burnout and compassion fatigue
Women's mental health
Life transitions and adjustment challenges
Self-esteem and personal growth
Relationship and communication concerns
Caregiver and helping-professional wellness
As a first-generation professional, educator, mother, and therapist, I understand the complexities of balancing multiple responsibilities while caring for others. My goal is to provide a supportive space where clients can reconnect with themselves, strengthen their sense of purpose, and move forward with confidence.
