Associate Therapist — Telehealth (Inland Empire, California)

W-2 · Full-time or part-time · Working toward LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC licensure

The Associate Therapist provides individual, couples, and/or family therapy to clients of Resilient Roots Counseling under the direct clinical supervision of a BBS-approved supervisor, while working toward full licensure (LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC) with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. This is a W-2, telehealth-based clinical role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, couples, and/or family psychotherapy to an assigned caseload via telehealth, consistent with Practice specialties (stress, burnout, maternal mental health, life transitions, mood disorders, grief, depression, and anxiety).

  • Complete comprehensive intakes, treatment plans, and progress notes in SimplePractice within required timeframes.

  • Attend and actively participate in weekly individual and/or group clinical supervision as required by BBS regulations.

  • Maintain an active BBS Associate registration in good standing and comply with all applicable supervision hour and documentation requirements.

  • Maintain client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and the Practice’s Confidentiality & HIPAA Agreement.

  • Coordinate care with referral partners (OBs, doulas, lactation consultants) as clinically appropriate.

  • Respond to client communications and scheduling within Practice-defined response-time standards.

  • Complete required trainings, including HIPAA, mandated reporting, and Practice-specific onboarding modules.

  • Participate in case consultation, staff meetings, and practice-wide initiatives as requested.

  • Maintain professional liability insurance as required by the Practice.

Qualifications

  • Active Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW), Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) registration with the California BBS.

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Clinical Counseling from an accredited program.

  • Reliable high-speed internet and a private, HIPAA-appropriate space for telehealth sessions.

  • Comfort with EHR/telehealth platforms.
